Images highlighting places less traveled and unexpected perspectives

Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated about how things work.  Fortunately for my parents, my curiosity evolved from “I wonder what happens when I [fill in the blank]?” to more scientific pursuits, culminating in degrees in Biology and Chemistry and a master’s degree in Environmental Biology.  However, my curiosity has not abated; I love looking at the world in detail and from every angle.

As empty nesters, my wife and I travel extensively, often to lesser-known places. We like to stay in small inns and B & Bs to immerse ourselves in the local colors and flavors.  Our trips become another type of research, from history to food, language, and art.

Over time, photography became the perfect medium to capture the essence of my explorations in nature and geography. What my images have in common is that they evoke a sense of wonder and often provoke questions from the viewers that lead to discovery of things we have in common.
